Hunting the Wyoming elk is truly one of the top hunts of a lifetime. Our elk hunts take place at our mountain ranch at the base of Laramie Peak. This famous peak not only offers some of the best elk hunting in Wyoming, but also guided hundreds of thousands of pioneers on the Oregon Trail.
The cabin is located in the heart of elk country and many times we start on foot straight from the cabin. This area is known for trophy bull elk. There are many bulls in the area that score 350 plus.
We do not run a trophy hunt, and do not charge extra for trophy kills.
Archery hunts begin September 22. This is during the peak of the rut. This hunt is done by calling, sitting over wallows, and in tree stands over trails. This is a fully guided 2 on 1 hunt. We are looking for a large 5 point or 6 point bull.
Rifle hunts begin October 15th. This is a spot and stalk hunt. The bulls are usually still with the cows and bugling some. We strive to get you a 300-point bull or better.
Our cow elk hunts are a wonderful way to experience elk hunting in Wyoming. This is a semi-guided 5-day hunt. You will be shown around the first day and a half to get a lay of the land. You will then be hunting on your own the remainder of the hunt. You will utilize the mountain cabin and we will provide linens and utensils. You will be responsible for food and beverages. The modern cabin offers everything you will need for your elk hunt. You will wake up before sunrise then head out on your hunt. This hunt is at about 7000 -8000 feet elevation. There will be quite a bit of walking, but the terrain is fairly easy compared to other elk hunting areas.
All of our Wyoming Bull elk hunts include lodging, guide service, and meals. Our Cow elk hunts include lodging, and semi-guide service. We will provide all linens and towels. You will need to provide your toiletry items.

Wyoming Archery Elk Hunt

Wyoming Rifle Elk Hunt

Rifle Elk Hunt - October 15-20th

Cow Hunt (Area 7, Type 6)
Price: $1,300.00 Deposit $500.00
Price is $1300.00 each for parties of 2 hunters. Parties of 3-4 hunters the price will be $1100.00
This is a semi-guided hunt with lodging included. This does not include meals.
Deposits are ONLY REFUNDED if you are unsuccessful drawing a Wyoming license. We will not refund deposits due to cancellations. Deposits will be refunded up until August 10th if you are unsuccessful with the draw.
Hunts are booked on a first come first serve basis. Your hunt is not booked until your deposit has been received. Personal checks, money order, and certified check will be accepted for initial deposits only. These need to be made out to J.J or Connie Werner. However the balance due on the hunt must be paid with cash, money order, or cashier’s check upon arrival.
After the animal has been taken we will assist you with field dressing and retrieval of the animal. We will also help get your animal to the meat processors.
Price does not include transportation to the ranch, licenses, taxidermy, meat processing fees, or caping. Caping will be done for an additional $50.00, only if time allows. If you desire one-on-one guided hunt there will be an additional charge of $200.00 per day.
